In 2009 our school became an official Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program school.
Along with a select number of schools nationwide, we are educating children about healthy eating and gardening through this program. The program empahsises mathematical skills such as measuring and weighing as well as extending the children's vocabulary through food experiences.
We are still going through the process of building our kitchen and garden and are enjoying watching our kitchen and garden develop.
In this section you will find photos and descriptions of our progress, copies of some of our favourite recipes, links to gardening and cooking sites and information about the Farmers Markets that we attend.
Our journey
Our school's kitchen garden journey has been featured on the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program website. It has also been shown to various politicians to demonstrate what this program can bring to a school. You can view it here:
